Lenny's Life Lessons

Hello there, dearest San Saba loves, and we hope you are doing well. As I write this, mom is keeping an eye on news of some lady named Beryl with a cane who is coming to the Texas gulf coast to beat it up. She is known as a her a cane and will travel! I have no experience with them, but it seems mom has met many such surly women in her life. “What mom? They are weather systems and not humans? Whew! So glad to know that!!” Anyway, they sound dangerous, and I am so glad we moved from Houston to San Saba! I have no desire to be a flying dachshund!

This past week was strange; I was left on my own way more than usual. Mom and Mandy made an excursion to Lampasas and were gone for what seemed like two years! I stay in my kennel, and for proper guilt effect, I whine and wail so pitifully as mom locks the door. I am sure it is difficult for her to hold back tears! As it turned out, mom was not feeling very well on their outing or the next day, so on Friday, Mandy took her to MidCoast to see Dr. Horner. Normally a person has a better chance of winning the lottery than getting mom to see a doctor so boy was I surprised to revisit my kennel! Hopefully a prescription of antibiotics will help my world return to normal!

I am glad to say mom got her hair cut and no longer looks like Bozo the Clown or as if someone tried to see how many cotton balls they could glue to her head! No, I am not being mean or critical, just honest.

I heard something ridiculous the other day, humans putting sprinkles on their ice cream! Um, why on earth would anyone put their Blue Bell out in the rain?? Talk about ruining a magical experience! I guess I will never understand human motivation.

I really do not want to admit this because being outsmarted is irritating; however, mom has done just that. In order to stop my middle of the night window tantrums to bark at nothing… mom now removes one of her large canvases from the wall, puts it on the couch propped against the window to block access! I suppose the good thing is our eyes no longer look like they have bags packed under them ready for a trip!

We love you so very much, our sweet San Saba friends, and we hope at the very least we bring a smile to your heart. Have a wonderful week.
