Hello, dearest San Saba loves, and how have you been this past week? It seems to this dachshund the days either want to soak us like a summer hose, or fry us like a hot dog at the end of a coat hanger. Now some people do call dachshunds weenie dogs or sausage dogs, but I would not even enjoy a roasting from a group of well intentioned friends. I am already tired of arguing with mom about how having the air conditioner on makes the house too cold; she should wear a fur coat 24/7!
Mom did some painting, but not the canvas, creative kind, but doors and trim. Some of you know mom really well and are not surprised when I tell you when she gets an idea in her head she is like a dog with a bone, bites down and will not let go! Speaking of bones, I have one to pick. I am writing very early in the morning which brings me to a question I trust you guys can assist in finding an answer… if a certain dachshund wakes up at the same time in a 24 hour period of time…does that mean that time becomes the dog’s morning regardless if it is five hours from dawn? Who is dawn anyway?? She doesn’t live in my house or feed me. Why does she get to determine when my days begin? I thought it a well broadcasted fact I am the boss of this house!
I have another question you guys may be able to answer… who assembled the night choir of birds? I enjoy the sound of birds during the day and watching them perform their concerts from the trees; however, I am not able to see them in the dark and not really experiencing any quid pro quo for the sound invasion. I feel the same way when I am left out of the loop of the dogs who live in back yards and begin barking ferociously and I have to join in without any clue about why I am barking! Oh dear gosh, is mom’s OCD tendencies transferring to me?? If I begin putting away my own toys, I am calling a professional!
Well, it seems this week I have left you with more questions than I have given you secure, reassuring answers, but know this…mom and I love you completely just as you. We hope you have a lovely week, listen for the birds, say hello to dawn, and if you have a dog that stays in your back yard, give them a hug and thank them for being your first alarm system.
Love , Lenny
