The students at San Saba Elementary are continually learning about respect, responsibility, and being a team player and good citizen! They are excited to participate in the Kids' Heart Challenge by raising money for the American Heart Association! Students will learn how to keep their hearts and brains healthy while raising funds to help kids with special hearts. By completing 'Finn’s Mission,' they will also learn the lifesaving skills of Hands-Only CPR and how to recognize a stroke.

Kickoff for this event will be on January 23rd, and collections will end on February 20th. For safety reasons, we have required our students to be accompanied by an adult if going door to door in our community. The students will have a form that explains what KHC is about so that they know how to explain the reason for asking for donations. Donations will be accepted through an app, cash, or checks. The students will have an envelope where they will be collecting the donations.

This is a fun event for the students as they help raise money and learn about the importance of a healthy heart. The students can also earn prizes and get to enjoy a glow party at the end. Last year, SSES exceeded the goal and helped raise $7,547 as a school! Pictured are some fun pictures from the glow party last year. Pictured at the top left of the collage is our top fundraiser, current SSES 1st Grader, Asher Smith, who raised a total of $1,336.22.

SSES is excited about the opportunity to give to the AHA again and help save lives!
