Kerrville Folk Festival is hosting a special Welcome Home Fest in conjunction with the annular eclipse, to be held October 12-15, 2023, at Quiet Valley Ranch on TX HWY16 South of Kerrville.
New Executive Director Deb Rouse describes the fall event as “the hip younger sister festival to the annual Kerrville Folk Festival,” this year with an added reason to celebrate.
“In addition to the music, Welcome Home Festival coincides with an annular eclipse, the so-called ‘Ring of Fire’ eclipse,” Rouse said. “Festival attendees will be invited to watch the eclipse in a “sound bath” designed to enhance the viewing experience.”
The 'Sound Bath' will be hosted by The Brother Brothers on Chapel Hill. Over the weekend, listeners can hear more than 20 musical acts, including: Sir Woman, Kinky Friedman, Kimya Dawson, Adrianne Lenker, Jack Barksdale, Twain, Daniel Fears, Corook, Anna Tivel, Michael Hurley, Grace Rowland, Growling Old Men, Lomelda, Georgia Parker, Laraaji, Staci Foster, Elam Blackman, McMercy Family Band, Redbud, Steve Fisher, US!, and Noah Richmond’s Little Monster.

The Kerrville Folk Festival is the longest continuously running music festival in North America. The original 18-day Festival is held every spring at Quiet Valley Ranch in the Texas Hill Country, 9 miles south of Kerrville, TX. It offers concerts and activities for all ages that are focused on nurturing and developing artistic expression, especially the art of songwriting. Since 1972, it has hosted more than 1500 aspiring and established singer-songwriters.
