Receipts totaled 2,993 head. Demand continued very good for the week. Stocker steers were steady to $4 higher with 29 steers 441 lbs. at $550 ($2425/ head) and 11 head 602 lbs. at $520 ($3130/head). Stocker heifers were steady to $4 lower. Feeder steers were $5-$7 lower and feeder heifers were steady to $5 higher with 5 head 710 lbs. at $ 380 ($ 2698/ head). Packer cows were $5 higher and packer bulls were steady. Several drafts of young, open cows were in strong demand with 27 head of 3 to 5 year old open Angus cows selling for $3450/head and 84 head of 3 to 5 year old open Angus and Red Angus cows bringing $3425/ head. Pairs and bred cows were steady and in good demand. The 22nd Annual Cattleman’s Kind Simmental & SimAngus bulls were very active with 64 bulls averaging $7,321 with the top bull at $11,000.
