A record turnout of buyers were on hand with a very active market for the Barber Ranch Hereford and Express Ranch Angus Bull Sale. Buyers were registered from New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Iowa, Mississippi, Kansas, Oregon, Florida, Georgia and all across Texas. The Barber Ranch Polled and Horned Hereford bulls averaged $8,919 on 93 bulls ranging from $4,000 up to $26,000.

The Express Ranch 36 Angus bulls averaged $9,035 and ranged from $6,000.00 up to $14,000.

Receipts totaled 2,839 for the week. Due to much needed rain in the Texas panhandle and Oklahoma, the market had a strong up trend. Packer cows and bulls remained steady while stocker steers were $10-$18 higher and stocker heifers were $10-$15 higher. Feeder steers were $8-$10 higher, and feeder heifers were $5-$12 higher. Fourteen head of Cannon Charolais bulls averaged $6521 and 18 head of Hales Angus bulls averaged $6730. There were 40 Exotic cross steers weighing 933 lbs at $229.00 ($2136.57). There were 38 Angus cross steers weighing 693 lbs at $242.00 ($1677.06). The market looks to have a lot of promise in the near future.
