It Is Springtime

It is my favorite time of the year. Yes, winter is over and the days and nights, cool. My wife and I were sitting in the back yard the other evening, and I mentioned to her there are not too many days in the year this nice. It is when plants start blooming and the air is sweet, (if you live in the country) you know things are alive, and there are powers we can’t see. It always gives me hope that there is life, a new life.

For me that life is in Christ Jesus. I remember many years ago when life was bleak and lacking something. Someone came to my house and shared with me how God loved me and Christ died for me on the Cross. That evening, I got down on my knees and finally, on my face, asked God (pleaded with all my heart) to forgive me for all the things (sins) that I had done wrong. Not only did I ask God to forgive me, but I also asked (I was afraid He wouldn’t) Christ Jesus to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. I can’t really explain it, but a great sense of peace, joy and calm came into my life. Just as a new bloom indicates new life, Christ’s resurrection indicates the hope of a new life (Colossians 1:18-22). See you in Church next Sunday if the doors are open.
