SSISD elementary students learned a valuable lesson about being kind to animals and animal care during a special three-day program last week. From May 6-8, San Saba County Friends of Animals SSCFOA Board Members visited San Saba Elementary School, engaging Pre-K through 4th grade students in 'Be Kind to Animals Week' activities.
Volunteers Regina Baker and Sylvia Donath took time off from their regular jobs to lead the program, which included storytelling, kindness pledges, songs, and a bird feeder project using toilet paper rolls donated by the community while Lowe's hosted the drop off site.
The young participants showed their excitement for animals by collecting $171 in coins to support SSCFOA's mission to save animals in need in San Saba County.
SSCFOA expressed interest in making 'Be Kind to Animals Week' an annual tradition, potentially expanding to include additional grade levels and schools in future years.
The program represents compassion and responsibility while supporting animal welfare in San Saba County. Visit SanSabaAnimals.com for more information on San Saba County Friends of Animals.
