In case you are planning to stop at the roadside park a few miles south of San Saba on Highway 16 for a picnic or just plain rest––forget it. Manuel Beltran, the high scoring back for the Cherokee Indians 6-man football team must be wondering what a fellow has to do to get on the first. Certainly, members of the State Champions would have a certain priority but here, Beltran, scored 51 touchdowns for a total of 306 points in 1974 and 45 touchdowns and 28 points in 1973 for a total of 96 touchdowns and 576 points.
