The Bend News

Hello from Bend, The last few months have been extremely difficult, but even more so at this current time. I am so very sad to announce the passing of Peter Andrew Henniger of Bend, Texas. Born on October 4, 1960, Pete’s long battle with cancer has come to an end, and Jesus has called him home! Surrounded by loved ones, Pete passed in the wee hours of Thursday morning, May 4, 2023. We are all so thankful that he is no longer in pain or suffering, but we are missing him dearly.

I am honored to say that on April 23, 2023, Pete and I finally got to say our vows to one another in front of God, family, and Steve Bynum officiating. We were wed in the comfort of Patsy Henniger’s home with immediate family only.

Speaking of weddings, April 22, 2023, Laura Beth Hicks and Anthony Henniger tied the knot! Everyone attending had a fabulous time. I am looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for those two over the years.

Lots of Henniger family will be in visiting from out of town. I bet the relatives from California will get a kick out of Gretchen the Potbelly Pig. She seems to roam now between Bad Bob’s house and mine, and she’s even made her way down to the general store. I hear she’s becoming famous with those customers, whom some are calling the Mayor of Bend. She is living her best life, walking the Street of Bend. ;-) Winnie Lou McCoury visited the hospital a couple times this last week and is having some issues that seem to be vertigo related. Prayers go out to Winnie Lou! I hope you are feeling better soon.

Bad Bob Robert Fullerton is finally out of the hospital and rehab. He has been recovering slowly from a fall that landed him with fractured ribs and a broken hip. He has since had a hip replacement. The scariest part is that he went into Diabetic Ketoacidosis. Holy Moly, if you don’t know what that is, you should look it up!

Saturday May 13th, Pidcoke Methodist Church has invited the BUMC congregation together for a barbeque with LOTS of food. Anyone is welcome to join, and donations will be accepted in lieu of your massive BBQ plate!

Visitation for Peter Andrew Henniger will be at Sneed Funeral Home in Lampasas from 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2023.

The funeral will take place at Church of Christ in Lampasas, Saturday, 2:00 p.m.

Burial will immediately follow at the Clark Family Cemetery in Bend, Texas.

A celebration of life is taking place at the Bend Schoolhouse afterward.

For those that have asked about donations, the family is requesting that donations be made to Church of Christ in Bend.

Yours Truly, Brandie from the Bend
