The Bend News

Hello from Bend,

There are quite a few announcements to make this week. To start, I’d like to wish the following a Happy Birthday:

5/24 - Robert Price

5/26 - Spring Price

5/29 - Anthony Henniger

6/5 - Melissa Martinez and Joshua McCoury

6/6 - Earl Sutton

Jim and Ora Beth Hicks celebrated their wedding anniversary on May 29th! They have another reason to celebrate as well; their granddaughter Catherine Anne Hicks, daughter of Mary McGarry and Jimmy Hicks, graduated from Lampasas High School on May 20th - Class of 2022! Congratulations!!!

Silvia Stinnett has been busy lately! She recently started up an Air B&B / Cabin Rental. It’s an adorable 2 bedroom, 1 bath (shower), with wifi and great view! It’s an adorable place with great rates. I had the chance to check it out earlier this week and would definitely recommend it! For more info you can reach out to Silvia or Autumn at Indian Camp Draw, 325-628-3539.

The 164th Methodist Camp Meeting starts off tonight, June 2nd, at the Methodist Campground on Cherokee Creek. The meeting will be each evening, June 2 through June 5th. Bobby Hicks will be cooking, and supper will be at 6 p.m. Worship at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 5th, Sunday School will start at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m.

Amidst all of the joyous occasions, the Bend community is also in mourning over the loss of two members. I am sad to announce that we recently said goodbye to the following women:

• Mebra Dean Lively Eckhoff, “Mebbie,” 73, passed away on May 18, 2022. She was laid to rest on May 23, 2022. at Chappel Cemetery.

• Denise Egger, 68, passed away peacefully at home with her friends and family by her side. A private memorial service will be set at a later date. My thoughts and prayers

My thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones. May you be blessed with memories that make you smile each day!

Until next week, Brandie from the Bend 325-628-3545 countrybrandie@gmail.com
