Are we really on course?

Getting off the ground and airborne is a big challenge for airplane pilots. There are a lot of things that have to be considered like length of runway, load you are carrying, how much fuel on board, is the airplane in good flying condition and finally, making sure we are headed in the right direction. When the airplane finally lifts off the ground and gets airborne is a great relief for the pilot. This can be a time of slight relaxation for the pilot but later comes a very important step in the flight. It is called midpoint correction and verification. This is to determine and verify if I am still on the right course to my destination.

That verification reminds me of something in the Bible. Many people accept Christ but never check again to see if they are on course. The Bible is clear about some things we can check to see if we are on course. There should be a love for God and acceptance Jesus Christ, (John 1:12, James 5:24), the Bible, (Joshua 1:8, Psalm 119:9 & 11), fellowship with other Christians, attending Church, (Hebrews 10:24 & 25), Bible study and especially loving other Christians, (John 13:34 & 35). The New Testament mentions over and over that there should or must be love for other Christians, (Galatians 6:9 & 10). Let’s start the year off right, see that these things are on our to-do list and we are applying them. See you in Church next Sunday.
