Alice in Wonder Land

When I lived near San Saba by Rt. 16, my husband Larry (1940-2020) made a bird feeder that attached on the fence by our driveway. Here in Zanesville, Ohio, where I live, I put birdseed on the ground with a border around it where my companion cat Dinah enjoys watching birds, squirrels and chipmunks eat. My companion chocolate Lab Ellie (1998-2022) didn't pay much attention to the birds. There are expressions we make about cats and dogs such as: 'cat got your tongue?', 'gonna take a cat nap', 'doggone it!', and 'You gotta bone to pick?'. It must be very confusing to people from foreign countries learning English.

I am President of the Jefferson High School Alumni that meet in Dresden, Ohio, every year on the Saturday before Father's Day. My graduating Class of 1959 meets every five years the evening before the Alumni. My classmates will celebrate 65 years this year and will meet on Friday, June 14th, in Dresden. I will present the memoriam for 22 Classmates from the 43 graduates. I will sing the song 'Friends'. The chorus of this song reminds me of the many friends when I left San Saba and moved to Ohio. To my dear friends : And friends are friends forever when the Lord's the Lord of them.

And a friend will not say never 'cause the welcome will not end.

Though it's hard to let you go in the Father's hands we know That a lifetime's not too long to live as friends.

NIV...Proverbs 17:17a...A friend loves at all times.
