The SSN& S has given information about the Total Solar Eclipse that will be seen in the San Saba area on Monday, April 8th. Last week, I attended a meeting at the library in Zanesville, Ohio, where I live, telling about this event that will be seen here also. I am looking forward to be at this event and will take a lawn chair and special glasses. The speaker at the library was Irene Worthington Baron, a former high school and college science teacher. She wrote the book Unraveling the Christmas Star Mystery, validation of the Holy Bible about the Star that led the Wisemen to find Jesus, the Son of God.
When I read the obituary of Raul (Paul) Cortinas in the March 21st issue of the SSN&S, I cried, and tears are forming as I write this. Paul passed away March 7th, alone; no information of his birth or family, accomplishments, employment, or education and no photo's of him. The staff of San Saba Nursing and Rehabilitation gave compassionate and dedicated care for him and his neighbor and friend Mark Johnson watched over his home and beloved pets. David Easlon and the members of the San Saba Church of Christ ministered to Paul and showed him the Love and Grace of God. Because of them, Paul will receive the greatest honor and reward a man can have --- his name written in The Book of Life.
