Sam and Linda Purtee were the greatest friends to my husband Larry and me. The four of us ministered in Zanesville, Ohio, for several years to the helpless and hopeless and made trips to Mexico. They helped us move to San Saba in 2006 and fell in love with Texans, so they bought a camper and stayed at Joe Ragsdale Park around twice a year and made many friends. Linda died in February 2013, and Sam died in February 2023.
Linda gave me poems that she wrote, and Sam let me write down comments that she wrote in her Bible. She was a special wonderful person, and so are her comments listed here. Some comments she listed who made them.

• I am back in Texas! The land looks much the same on the Texas side, the vegetation was the same, the sweet smell on the wind. But something is different. I knew the difference came within myself. It is not only in the land, but it is in the idea.
