Alice in Wonder Land

At the first practice of the Messiah last Monday evening, I sat six feet from a girl in her 20's that sang it recently, and that really helped me because I had not sung it for over 50 years. I will not forget her name because it is Ellie, the same name of my wonderful, chocolate Labrador.

My friends from Pennsylvania postponed their trip to visit me last week. It is confirmed that they will be coming tomorrow! I think that part of their visit is to go to the Millersburg area where we will visit friends. I am looking forward to their visit!

My friend, Zeta, came last Tuesday, and we sorted photos that were stacked in a large plastic storage container. Precious memories of my life born and raised in Dresden, Ohio. After marrying Larry, we lived across the Muskingum River by Dresden, Ohio; six months in Memphis Tennessee; 14 years in Millersburg, Ohio; 29 years in Gratiot, Ohio; 15 years in San Saba, Texas. Hundreds of photos need to be in albums. I believe there must be at least 50 – 75 people that have gone to Mexico with Larry. I was looking forward to seeing Pastor Brian Harkness who went with Larry when he was a teenager. However, he is in the hospital with illness and other complications, so I have been praying for him.

Last Friday, I went to the Primrose Retirement Community and gave a program similar to when Larry, Winfield, Georgia and I went to the nursing home there in San Saba every first Sunday afternoon. Afterwards, I visited with Laura who graduated a year ahead of me in school and was the first wife of David Longaberger, the owner-founder of Longaberger Baskets.

When I was at the Cornerstone church, Sunday, October 10th, I saw a woman go to be prayed for and realized it was Debbie Moore. Her husband, Tom, was in ministry with Larry years ago, and we usually visited with them on trips back to Ohio. So, we are serving the Lord together again but in a different way.

The President of our condo's died this week from illness. I was just getting to know her, and she invited me to a concert at her church. Some of the words of the song, WHAT IF is.....'what if today is the only day I've got, I'm gonna give it my best shot.. ...stand stronger and taller, dig deeper....no shoulda, woulda, coulda been....no regret in the end.'.....
