Alice in Wonder Land

Yesterday, April 2nd, I visited a church in Newark, Ohio, 40 minutes from where I live in Zanesville. The Pastor made a trip to Mexico with my husband Larry, and his wife and I worked for Shurtz Management in Granville. I took a copy of the song, Side By Side, Hand in Hand (printed in last week's column) and gave it to their music team. They have given financially to Mexico so I took the scrapbook of my trip there last year and reminisced how God provided and protected. One trip when Larry, and I believe Pastor Tom Brand, were in Mexico driving to San Fernando, the cartel pulled up beside them. The guy in the front seat was motioning for them to pull over, and the guy in the back was pointing a rifle at them. Pastor Tom held up his Bible and said “Larry, what are we gonna do?” Larry answered “PRAY!” The cartel pulled in front of them, then off the road expecting them to pull over, but Larry kept on going and they didn't follow them. Glory Hallelujah!

I remember enjoying the beautiful wild flowers springing up in Texas along the roadside and fields this time of year. Here at my condo area, we have bright yellow dandelions that are not welcome in our lawn areas. My neighbor Tom wacked them with his golf club last year. I will see if he has improved his swing this year.

This time of year is important for Christians to remember how Jesus paid the price for us. Verse 2 and 3 of My Faith Looks Up To Thee..... 2. May Thy rich grace impart strength to my fainting heart; my zeal inspire. As Thou hast died for me, O may my love to Thee, pure, warm, and changeless be, a living fire! 3. While life's dark maze I tread, and griefs around me spread, be Thou my Guide; bid darkness turn to day, wipe sorrow's tears away nor let me ever stray from Thee aside.
