Our friends Sam and Linda Purtee from Ohio visited us many times in San Saba, Texas, and stayed in their camper at Joe Ragsdale Park. One day, Linda befriended Daisy, a woman riding her bicycle by the Park. Daisy regretted her way of life that resulted in a divorce and children taken away by their father and no contact with them for many years. Linda took Daisy to the Assembly of God Church where she found God's love, forgiveness, salvation, joy and peace. Daisy had an incurable disease and within months went to the San Saba Nursing Home. Linda was back in Ohio and with God's help contacted one of Daisy's children who told her that their father said their mother died. Arrangements were made for him to talk to his mother on the phone before she died. I smile as I envision Daisy and Linda running hand in hand through a field of Daisies in Heaven.
I haven't thought of Daisy for years until last evening when I thought about a testimony in church Sunday. A young man came to church who rejected God, led a life of drugs, parties, girlfriends, sex, etc. He gave his testimony of being released from the pits of hell and now will live in heaven on earth. He is going to use his testimony to help others. In fact, a young couple who came to church with him made the decision to live a Christian life. Glory Hallelujah!
