My friend Zeta came for a visit last week. Her family was members of Abundant Life Ministries that Larry pastored at Asbury Chapel three miles south of Hopewell, Ohio. We ate lunch at Bob Evans, rearranged some shelves in my condo and copied Clara Kish's (also an Asbury Chapel member) poems. I followed Zeta on her way back home, and we stopped at Clara's and gave her notebook of poems back and also an edition of the Dresden Buzz where I had one of her poems in the paper.

My daughter Jenny organized the Smith reunion to be held Sunday, October 2nd, in the community building at the Colony Hill Condos. I live across the street from this, so I am looking forward to attending and won't need to drive. Larry's sister Flora makes a quilt for this event every year that is signed by people at the reunion and raffled off.

I have been to three beauticians in Zanesville, Ohio, and I miss Angie at Cuttin' Up! They don't listen to what I want and then say 'oh you look so cute.' I do not do cute at 81! Thankfully, this too shall pass as it grows.

In the daily devotional journal My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers on September 21st, I will quote several sentences...'The first thing that happens after we have realized our election to God in Christ Jesus is the destruction of our prejudices and our parochial notions and our patriotisms; we are turned into servants of God's own purpose.....we have to maintain our soul open to the fact of God's creative purpose, and not muddle it with our own intentions....... Beware lest you forget God's purpose for your life.' John 16:33 KJV...Jesus said “In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
