I got a message from Marsha about the Mission San Saba project last week in San Saba. Years ago when our husbands worked on a mission project, they became 'blood brothers' when Jim accidently cut Larry's hand holding drywall. The hand healed and was a reminder of a wonderful friendship and working on a great project.
I attended the Dresden Jefferson High School Alumni Banquet Saturday, June 25th. As President, I led the program, sang The National Anthem and gave the Closing Benediction. The speaker was Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel David Bice, 1964 graduate of Jefferson High School. When I introduced David, I said that because of his title I didn't know if I should bow, salute or shake his hand. David is on page 304 in the book Words From The Heart by my classmates Pati Tyson Redmond and Sally Thompson Prouty. David was a great speaker and got a standing ovation.
I received notice that the sale of my house at l780 N. Hwy. 16, San Saba, Texas, will have the closing this week. San Saba will welcome Pastor Tom and Cynthia's daughter Jennifer and family. I know they will be living in one of the best communities in the United States of America.
It has been a frustrating, a financial burden and sometimes fearful time when my house was for sale with two contracts that did not go through since May, 2021. Friends and The Fathers House helped me financially, and with prayer and phone calls. My daughter, Jenny, has been my help and support and has done things for me beyond measure. More than ever I rely on the following words of a song I sang years ago....'I don't know about tomorrow, I just live from day to day....and I know Who holds holds my hand.'
Matthew 6:31-33 The Living Bible....So don't worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your Heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and He will give them to you if you give Him first place in your life and live as He wants you to.
