Alice in Wonder Land

The parade in downtown Zanesville, Ohio, Saturday, June 18th, was very patriotic and celebrated it's historic beginning. After the parade, my friends, Judy and Jim, and I ate at Tom's Ice Cream Bowl that is a historic place to eat.

Yesterday, Sunday, June 19th, when I was waiting for my ride to go to an outside band concert by the river in downtown Zanesville, I got the sad news that a longtime friend, Jim Adams, died. Jim and my husband Larry shared the same birthday, August 4th, and they would contact each other to say Happy Birthday. I will be attending his service this afternoon here in Zanesville.

When I talked to Karen, a dear friend in San Saba last week, we discussed the June 9th article Pastor Sam Crosby wrote in the San Saba News & Star. He referred to an article about one episode of 'The View' where Tara Setmeyer blamed the mass shootings across the nation on 'a rise in violent Christian nationalism and that this is particularly true in Texas, where it is God, guns and Trump.' A second host, Whoopi Goldberg, went on to blame Christians for slavery and racism. Pastor Sam responded with Scripture and true facts. I will quote the end of his article:

'Simply put, the Christian world view is often in direct opposition to the humanistic world view. The Christian view puts God at the center of the universe, while the secular view places humans on the throne. These opposing views will never be reconciled.'

2 Thessalonians 3:3...The Lord is faithful; He will strengthen and guard you from the evil one.
