Alice in Wonder Land

At the Northgate Church Dresden on Sunday, December 19th, there was the Ugliest Sweater contest, the Kid's skit and wonderful Praise & Worship before Pastor Steve preached. On Wednesday, December 22nd, there was a video on the birth of Jesus, special music, communion, refreshments, and fellowship. They were great times to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Pastor Jeff and Jackie Moales surprised me by coming two hours away and took me out to lunch on Thursday, December 23rd. I went to my daughter Jenny's on Friday, December 24th, and helped make chocolate whoppie cookies. I don't know why they are called that, but when you eat them, you want to say “whoppie!” I went to Jenny's on Christmas day for brunch. Pastor Tom and Cynthia called me that evening that made it a special day. I have enjoyed sending 100 Christmas letters, receiving cards, phone calls, texts and of course shopping this season.

The weather here in Ohio this Christmas season is very different than last year when there was five inches of snow on Christmas day. This year, the temperature was in the high 50's on Christmas day. I don't mind this unusual weather because it feels like Texas! I was reminded of Texas again when I was eating lunch today and needed to salt my soup but got the twohole pepper instead. When I lived in Texas, the two-hole shaker was salt and the 3 hole shaker was pepper. It took just one time to figure that out!

This morning, I made a list of things to do before going to Tennessee to my granddaughter's and family on Thursday, December 30th, and back on Sunday, Janu ary 2nd. My great granddaughter Maddie is five and great grandson Camden is one and a half. Maddie is really into Yahtze these days. I responded to the text telling me this and texted: tell Maddie that game's on, and I am going to win! :)

This is the last Alice in Wonder Land that I will write in 2021. I love writing this article because I feel connected to people in San Saba, and it has helped me through this difficult time of my life. God is my Help, my Redeemer, my Hope, my Comforter. I trust Him for the details and guidance for every day, trusting that He is pouring life into my life, and I will look for the ways He is at work. I believe His promise to sustain me through every moment. And I am looking forward to discovering the joy He will prepare for me every day of 2022.
