Alice in Wonder Land

Hope came to earth in the form of a man, revealing God's love and ultimate plan.

Hope came to earth to bring joy beyond measure;

God's Son, Jesus Christ, a gift to treasure.

It was difficult writing my Christmas letters this year because it was with tears and sorrow because my beloved husband, Larry, of 58 wonderful years, died on November 22, 2020. I did not send any Christmas letters last year.

Last week, I went to the post office here in Zanesville to mail some packages. When I pressed the bottom of the key to open the door of my car it did not open. I checked my purse to call for assistance, but I did not have my phone. So I went back inside the post office, a man came and tried to get it open, and it would not open. A red truck pulled in the parking place beside me, and how surprised I was that it was my daughter Jenny's neighbor, Tom Scott. He took me home where I got another set of key's and my phone. I live in a big city now, so out of thousands of people, God planned for Tom to help me. I am so thankful and blessed!

My friend, Zeta, and I visited Clara Kish who lives only eight minutes from where I live. Clara was a member of Abundant Life Ministries at Asbury Chapel where my husband, Larry, pastored. Clara is in her 90's and was in a wheelchair. Although her eyesight wasn't good, she could hear very well. Her eyesight prevents her from writing poetry, a God-given gift. I brought one of her notebooks of poetry home with me to copy and give back to her. I chose the following for Alice in Wonder Land.

IT'S BEEN A GOOD DAY!

Thank you Lord, it's been a good day with all the thoughts that came my way, and seeing the face of a very dear friend.

It's been a good day from beginning to end.

Just to talk to someone across the miles; to see the children and their happy smiles.

We feel the love in the church where we go.

You don't have to wonder if it's real, you know!

To know God's given you a gift to cheer as you pen a verse to those you hold dear.

With a pen and words you try to impart the love or sympathy you have in your heart.

Please God, let my gift be one to ease a hurting heart and to bring them peace.

Help me to bring a smile to one in need; if they're unsaved, help me plant a seed.

For all of our gifts, sometimes unseen; for all that You are and for what You mean.

In my heart now I will stop and pray,

“Thank you, Lord, it's been a Good Day!'
