If you are wondering where I have been lately, I am hibernating. I go out, when necessary, otherwise I’m on the couch under a blanket. I can hear a few snickers, scoffs, and or for Pete’s sake, but I can take the scorn. I cannot take the cold. This isn’t even the cold week; that’s what’s coming.

Simple Truths

I think we forget the power of words. When I was a boy and someone said something hurtful to me, I was taught to say, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.” That sounds good, but it is not true.

I completed as many outdoor jobs as I could last week, knowing that this week is back to winter weather. I am not good with cold weather. I don’t mind cool evenings and nights, but let my days be above 70. The cold doesn’t help with winter sicknesses either.
