What are the Benefits?

Today, a lot is said about benefits, especially when it comes to the workplace. Many times, they do not want to know about the work or work environment - just tell me about the benefits and when I can start receiving them.

Thinking about benefits reminds me of something in the Bible. Are there benefits promised in the Bible, and what are they? One thing is they are not promised to everyone, but they are made available to everyone.

First, we must be willing to approach God and humbly talk to Him. We do not deserve or qualify on our own merit for benefits or favor from God, (Romans 3:23, Colossians 3:25). Sin of disobedience has consequences or penalties, (Hebrews 9:27, Romans 6:23). But God loves and wants to help us and forgive us, (John 3:16, Romans 5:8). He had to do that in a special way, and that was done with the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, (Romans 5:1, 1 Peter 3:18). If or when we call upon God to forgive our sins and call upon or put our faith in Jesus Christ, only then can our sins be forgiven and start a new life and future, (Ephesians 2:8 & 9, John 1:12). When we do that, there is a declaration made by God that we are declared righteous, (Acts 26:18, John 5:24) Also we receive the Holy Spirit and the promise of eternal life, (Titus 3:18, 1 John 5:13). See you in Church next Sunday.
