Waiting for the Bailout

It has been a major news topic lately, and everybody wants to get on the bandwagon. They all want government bailouts or the government to pump large amounts of money into their businesses or corporations. Whether they really need it or just want it is another question. One thing, they are all looking for the US Government for help.

Where are we to look for help? Yes, we can trust in ourselves, our money or the government, but that is not the best. The best help comes from God, the Creator of heaven and earth, (Psalm 121:1&2). It pleases God when we call upon Him, (Psalm 91:15). We are given the opportunity to call upon Him, or not.

The writers of the book of Psalms tell of many different times they were in great need and called upon God, (Psalm 27:7-9, 40:17, 70:5) and how He rescued or helped them.

The Bible talks about those that know God in a special way (Psalm 91:14). We enter into that special relationship when we ask God to forgive our sins and call upon Jesus to be our Savior and Lord, (Romans 10:10-13). When we have that special relationship, our requests get special attention.

God will not be a part of, or help, anyone trying to do evil, (Psalm 145:18). Let us call upon God in our day of need, (Psalm 50:15, 55:16, 116:2). See you in Church next Sunday.
