Simple Truths

Psalm 37:24 “though he fall, he shall not utterly be cast down, for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.” Psalm 32:8 “I will instuct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will guide thee with mine eye.”

The greatest comfort we have in life as Christians is knowing that we don't have to try to make our own way in this world. These two verses encourage me in my daily walk.

I am guided by His all-seeing eye. There is nothing lurking in a hidden place to do me harm that the Lord does not see. Nothing is hidden from His eye. He sees into the future and therefore can guide me through every obstacle and around every unknown danger to me. All I have to do is follow.

But then, if we stumble and fall, the other verse tells us that we will not be utterly destroyed: He will help us up and will then hold us up with his hand. What great peace this should bring to the Christian when we consider the powerful, undiminished power in his hands. He is called 'Almighty God.' That means that He has All Might. He has all power in heaven and earth, and nothing is hard for Him.

If we are guided by His eye and upheld by His hand, we are safe and secure in every area of life.
