The Richland Springs Report

That beautiful rain is causing me to mow the grass again, but I am not complaining. It was four inches of life-giving rain. I even get to leave my window open at night and enjoy the cool night air. It’s so much better than airconditioning. Russ must double up on his blankets, but I love sleeping in the cool air.

Once again, the Men’s Prayer Breakfast was an outstanding success. This is a time for men to get together, fellowship, have a great breakfast, and share some Biblical wisdom. Please remember it’s open to any man or boy from the area.

Our big district rival game against Cherokee was a stunning success. Final score was 76-52. Crowd turnout was strong, loud, and proud. The coaches standout player of the game was senior Layne Ward. With our elections just a few weeks away, we’re being inundated with political ads. It’s nauseating how much anger is displayed in these ads. I’ve written this before, and I’d like to say it again. One of the ads is advocating to vote for the man, not the party. That philosophy died decades ago. Both parties insist on their members voting along party lines. So, forget the man or woman. Check out the party platforms and decide which one agrees with your personal preferences. If you doubt me, check out a house vote. Most of the time, you will see solidarity along party lines. Check out the party position and don’t forget to vote. It’s a privilege many other countries don’t have.

Please pray for peace around the world, for our President, the elections, our Congressional members, and most of all, our precious troops and their families.
