The Richland Springs Report

Congratulations to our men’s relay team. They are advancing in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relays. The 200 relay broke the meet record. Evan Deeds will advance in pole vault with his brother Ethan as alternate. Brice Roesler will advance in shot put and discus. Cohen Ethridge will advance in long jump and 300m hurdles. Our two lady Coyotes came close to advancing but will not be representing our school at state. Emma Bryant 6th in the 400m and Paige Bailey 4th in discus. What a formidable job by everyone. We are so proud of you. Layne Ward will be advancing to state in tennis, and Jaspur Farris will advance to state in persuasive speech. The date of the state track meet is the 14th through the 16th , and the speech finals will be the following week.

This week is teacher appreciation week. First Baptist, Shiloh, The Booster Club, and the School Board will honor the teachers by providing them with a delicious lunch. Our teachers have been steadfast and loyal as we work through our school issues. Thank you to all groups who are honoring our great teachers. The teachers have been given special dress down days. The most curious one is the dress like a student day. I think I will be challenged to produce a suitable “look.”

May 7th is the 8th grade luncheon at the Baptist Church. It is also the day of the state tennis meet. Good luck, Layne. The senior luncheon is May 11th at the Baptist Church.

Please mark your calendars for the 100th year anniversary of the Alumni Banquet. The first 120 guests (couples or individuals) will receive a free challenge coin. This event is scheduled for May 9th, which is Mother’s Day Weekend. Doors open at 5:00 p.m.; the meal will be served at 7:00 p.m. Admission and meal are $20.00, and the honor classes end in the number 6. Come and support our special little school. Coyotes fight…never die.

Give your mom a special amount of your time on Sunday. Those of us who have heavenly mom’s miss our special mom hugs. Monday is a regular school day due to having to make up for a bad-weather day. Elementary students will participate in their annual field day. My students will be down to the wire completing their science projects. Elementary students will be attending their annual AR party on the 14th.

Don’t forget to put May 13th on your calendar. At 10:00 a.m. grades 5, 8 and 9 will be presenting their science projects, and grades 6 and 7 will be presenting their research projects. I’m checking the date for the Baccalaureate. This is in honor of the graduating seniors hosted by the Christian Church.

Due to the busy calendar, Kid’s Church on Wednesdays has been canceled until the fall. There will be VBS this summer. Stay tuned for future updates.

Please pray for the end of our school year. Students are still doing work for teachers, and the work must be turned in for a passing grade. Please pray for the wars in Ukraine, Israel, and Iran. We are thankful for the rain we received. Our President, Congress and state governments need prayers and common-sense politics. I pray for civility and cooperation between the two parties. Most of all, pray for our precious troops and their families.
