The Richland Springs Report

Praise God for the refreshing rain without the dangerous storm side effects. Totals in the immediate area ranged from .9 to 1.6 inches. I’m looking out my window now, and southeast of us there is a giant lightning storm happening. I pray everyone is safe.

Congratulations to our track team again. Emma Bryant, Brice Roesler, Cohen Ethridge, Layne Ward, Ethan Deeds, Evan Deeds and Billy Perry are headed to finals in multiple events. We in the community are exceedingly proud of all our athletes. The athletes competing in Bryan on the 17th and 18th will be followed by our UIL Academic competitors on the 24th of April. If you see any of our Bryan bound athletes, wish them the best of luck. Layne Ward will also be competing in tennis as well as track.

STAAR exams begin this week. All English classes will test from the 13th to the 15th.

If you still want to give blood for the annual blood drive being held on the 15th, please contact Tina Poe to see if there are any openings.

The prom will be held on the 18th at the Mann Center. Guests arriving with Coyote students must have been cleared last Friday. The annual promenade will be held downtown before the prom. I’m going to say thank you in advance to the Mann Center for the use of this beautiful reception center. Just a reminder, no tickets will be sold at the door.

Please put Sunday the 19th on your calendars. The RSPS will be holding their community luncheon. I am astonished every time we hold one of these luncheons by the variety of food donated by local citizens and the considerable number of people who come to eat and donate for their meal. The frames and windows of the bank have all been replace thanks to these dinners. Plans are being made to advance the interior revamping. Perhaps with the new business that the railroad hopes to bring to the area, our bank building could be used for new businesses. See you Sunday.

Upcoming events for the week of the 22nd through the 29th include STAAR tests for history and math, UIL academic competition in Bryan and on the 26th will be the annual Senior Roping event. Seniors will be visiting local businesses and alumni for donation items for the silent auction. All donations are welcomed and appreciated.

Please pray for our teachers and students as we finish out the school year. Please keep your students in school. Pray for the war in Iran, our country, our government, politicians, and our media. Most of all, pray for our precious troops and their families. Congratulations to our space explorers on their amazing mission around the moon.
