The Richland Springs Report

I was advised of an error in my last column regarding the school board candidates. There should be full comments from all candidates this week, but I apologize for the error. I designated Kendra Oldham as an incumbent. She has run before but has not been elected. I also didn’t have Bobby Deeds as a candidate. All five candidates should have their positions posted in the paper this week.

Please be sure and vote for the person who matches your thoughts on the forward direction of our school district.

Early elections for school board candidates begins April 22nd through April 29th in the Richland Springs Cafetorium.

Election Day is Saturday, May 3rd, in the Richland Springs Community Center. Your vote is very important. Recent statistics report that as little as one vote could win your candidate a spot on the school board.

Jason Lewis has been keeping statistics over many years and assures me that every vote is important. You have five candidates running for two seats. Bobby Deeds, Sally Gossett, Jason Lewis, Kendra Oldham, and Nick Taylor(incumbent) are all excellent candidates. Your job is to vote.

Our chief town promoter, Jason Lewis, has sent out invitations for a city-wide garage sale on April 26th. If you have signed up, he will have a map of venues on the Richland Springs Trade Days Facebook page. What a marvelous idea. It’s spring-cleaning time everyone. I’ve seen notices from McKinnerney’s, and I suspect RS BoHo and Chrissy’s Plants will be participating. It will be entertaining to see all the “treasures” that will surface.

Please pray for our school; we are still in STAAR testing mode. Praise God for the rain. Our country needs prayers as do the countries in wars around the world. We have multiple families dealing with sickness, and our farmers and ranchers need more rain. God bless our first responders and law enforcement officers. Most of all Lord, protect our precious soldiers.

See you at the polls.
