The Richland Springs Preservation Society held their regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening, June 17th. There were 11 people attending the meeting. Franky Soto opened with prayer.
Franky reported that the bank balance is $8900.
Franky recommended that the next repairs to be done on the bank building should be replacing the windows and facings as rain leaks in through the windows and can damage the walls and floors. There are approximately 25 windows to be replaced. The cost per window is $1400-1500. The high cost is due to the large size of the windows - 4'x8'. It was suggested that we seek sponsors for each window, or even families to sponsor a room to be redone. Franky recommended that the walls be redone with rustic looking paneling, or plaster. He said that sheetrock is not a good option.
The old barber shop wiring is complete, with added plugs and lights. All the wiring is in conduit. A light has been added in the half bath by the barber shop and the 1910 Shoppe. Also a light had been added in the vault room.
There was a discussion regarding the fundraiser during the Stars and Stripes celebration. Franky suggested possibly selling icepops. But since Jackie said she had rented a snow-cone machine for her shop, the idea was dropped and it was decided that the next fundraiser will be the pot-luck on July 13th.
Meeting adjourned.
