Over the years, I have visited and worked with the youth in prison. I have talked to, prayed with, but also tried to help them with their relationship to the Living Holy God.
While talking to them, I became aware of a few things they are very concerned about. Their families... and another was how long before they will be set free. They have broken the laws and have been found guilty in the courts of law. For some, depending on what laws they have broken, they will be set free very soon; for others they may never be set free.
I shared with them about God and man’s relationship to Him. The Bible says God loves us, but we all are in debt to Him.
Romans 3:10-12 ...as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God,
God loves us, but He is a just God and cannot overlook sin or disobedience. He must punish lawbreakers.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
One sin, little or big, leads to forever separation from God.
The one and only way we can find forgiveness and peace with God is first realizing we are guilty and deserve Hell.
God can forgive our sins if we confess our sins, call upon Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 3:24 ... and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Romans 4:7-8 Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”
Romans 5:6-10 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
Where do we stand before God today?
Guilty, unforgiven or declared forgiven by the life and innocent blood of Jesus Christ?
Why not get free today?
See you in Church next Sunday.
