Oh, those hard workers

Next Monday will be Labor Day. The day for the working man, yes, it is the end of summer, back to school and hopefully cooler weather.

But I am also thinking about many that have worked so hard to provide for us and others. They have gone to work, day after day without complaining to provide for family, loved ones and themselves. I firmly believe that if we could ask them, they would be willing to do it again.

There have been many who have helped us along the way.

For me, my parents, grandparents, teachers and a host of others cared for my physical well-being.

Spiritually, I recall my mother reading the Bible to me at an early age and my grandmother taking my brother and me to Sunday School and Church; my Sunday School teachers and the young couple who did special things for the youth group I was in.

I am thankful for the man who came to my house, shared Jesus Christ with me, and helped me accept Him as my personal Lord and Savior.

I think it is good to look back and remember those who have helped us so much and for those who have made sacrifices for us.

Keep in mind how Jesus died for us and how much God loves us.

John 3: 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 5:8 ... but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Let us also give thanks for the American Worker and our wonderful country.

See you in Church next Sunday.
