Dear Editor,
Thank you for the opportunity to address the issue of the 'proposed' power line expansion.
I was struck by the stupidity of this project. The Texas Hill County is Heaven on Earth! Anybody advocating for this is not a Texan. 240 miles of pristine scenic land would be destroyed, natural beauty ruined, never to be seen again.
Whoever is pushing this bad idea is only looking at dollar signs, not retaining the natural beauty of the Hill County. If this is allowed to be rammed through, it will cause unimaginable disaster to humans, wildlife, stock animals and birds. To say nothing of bulldozing ancient trees and landscapes, killing property values and taking away our peace and quiet. Let's not forget how businesses will be hurt, B&B's, ranching, wineries, pecan orchards will be demolished.
How about the geniuses look past the ends of their noses for an answer. You want/need power that far from its source? Build the source closer. A small nuclear power plant would solve the problem, no towers, no lines, no ruination of Heaven on Earth.
The Data Centers that require this massive amount of electricity should pay to build it. If they are profiting from AI, and need more power, then have them fund it.
We should in no way be forced to suffer due to someone else's greed!
