Miss Margaret Baker entertained in honor of her cousin, Miss Nell Sloan, who has been her guest for a week. The following ladies played bridge: Misses, Evelyn Campbell, Frances Crain, Frances Sullivan, Grace Harber, Sarah and Cynthia Johnson, Kathryn Walker, Nell Sloan and the hostess.
Dennis Sullivan and W. B. Leverett report there has been about ten thousand acres of land leased and a drilling contract signed by Wilford and Powell of San Antonio. Mr. A. L. Greenman, their geologist, spent three days here making location for the well. Derricks will be put up at once.
Mr. and Mrs. Giles Harris of Moran are enjoying a few days camp on the San Saba river. Mr. Harris is mayor of Moran and is taking his vacation. They are highly pleased with our tourist park and the abundance of running streams.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter May of Austin are visiting Ben May and family and enjoying camping and fishing on the San Saba river.
J. C. McDowell of Field Creek purchased the City Cafe from Watt Brown and will continue to serve the public at the same stand.
