During the annual Museum membership meeting, Mr. Junior Fritz of Kerrville, Texas presented to Mrs. Aileen Roberts, a Museum trustee, a check for $2500.00 for the Burden Hotel Restoration Fund. It is due to Mrs. Fritz’s generosity and the efforts of Mrs. Roberts’ Texas history students that the Burden Hotel is still standing.
Congratulations to Chad and Laura Johnson at the birth of their son, Reggie Hayes Johnson. Hayes weighed 8 pounds. Chad works for the Barnes-Keith Ranch and Laura (Winn) Johnson teaches at Lometa.
The San Saba Tennis Team took seven players to the Region I-AA Tennis Tournament held at Abilene Christian University. Kiley Allred led the team by coming in third place in Girls Singles.
The Senior class at Richland Springs hosted their big fundraising fish fry at the Elm Grove VFD. The fish and trimmings were very good. The kids had a lot of nice things to be auctioned off as well as some good looking cakes. The fundraiser was a big success.
A baby shower was held in the home of Bobbie Morris celebrating the birth of Gunner Riley Stinnett, son of Garrison and Brooke.
Lady Dillos Golf team, Tara Owens, Sabel Paredez, Megan Cisneroz (also 3rd Medalist), Katherine Whitten, Jeri Dyer, advances to State in Austin. The team is coached by Ronnie Schulze.
A number of San Saba High School students participated in this year’s Relay for Life to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. Students collected in jars, moved a purple toilet, had bake sales, and donated from club money to help “Fight the War on Cancer”. Many stayed all night and walked, ran, played volleyball, and served hamburgers to help raise the final funds. Some even dressed up in prom dresses for the Mr. Relay contest! Travis Long was one of the winners in that event. Sarah Crosby sang a beautiful song for the talent show and won a trophy in the individual singing category.

Richland Springs is proud to announce the valedictorians and salutatorians for 2015. Eighth grade valedictorian is Cameron Parham, and eighth grade salutatorian is Jacey Gossett. High school valedictorian is Mr. Jacob Cohn and salutatorian is Miss Harley McMahan.
Jane Clark took her granddaughter Jaylee Messer to Burnet for a fashion show put on by some middle school students which included Jaylee. The Gap and other stores provided the clothes that both boys and girls modeled, and prizes were awarded by the judges.
SSHS students Leigh Riggs and Hailey Osbourn participated in individual contest at the Regional Academic meet in Corpus Christi. Leigh competed in one of the most difficult contests at the meet and received a sixth place medal. Hailey competed in the always challenging Ready Writing contest and brought home a fourth place medal.
It was an exciting week for Barbara Uribe. Not only did she win 2 events at the Area track meet, but she also signed a letter of intent with Ranger College. She will be running track at Ranger on an athletic scholarship.
Justin Hallmark made school history in Richland Springs by being the first person to go to state tournament in golf, as an individual medalist. Justin advanced to State in San Angelo playing on the Quicksand Course, at regionals.
