The Bend News

Greetings from Bend!

I hope everyone has had a great week!

These past few weeks have been great! This coming Saturday, October 19th, at 6 p.m. is the Bend CCA annual fundraiser. Bobby Hicks will be frying catfish, hushpuppies and fries! There will be a cake auction and a silent auction. There will also be a cake competition. The competition will be based around what the cakes look like. If you are wanting to enter a cake please have it at the Bend Schoolhouse by 3 p.m.

on Saturday. This funds raised will go towards renovations to the building.

I have received some great photos for the photo project I am working on. I have received some photos of Bend all the way back to 1912. It is incredible! I have also received photos of Lemons Camp, now known as Colorado Bend State Park. I have also gotten photos from when the river flooded back in 1936. This is such an incredible opportunity to learn about the history of my home in Bend, Texas. Thank you to everyone who donated photos and told me about them.

We have also received some recipes for the new cookbook! Don’t forget to get those to us. This Saturday, I will be glad to get them from you, or you can email them to us at bendcca@gmail.com.

On Monday, 13 Bend-Chappel TEEAmembers attended their monthly meeting at Bend UMC. We discussed ideas for Community Service and ideas on how to control clutter in our homes.
