I love reading the Quinn Minute By Rix Quinn in the SSN&S. The January 23rd article took me more than a minute to read because I was laughing at his rendition of Little Red Riding Hood.
Last year, I bought four LED Path Lights that lit up the walk onto my porch. Within three months, they needed new batteries. However, I tried new batteries, and they would not work. It is over 'the return time' so they are a reminder of 'what once was'. Actually, we all have 'what once was'. There are many 'what once was' for my husband Larry (1940-2020) who once was a pastor, missionary, carpenter, father, husband and friend. I remember a phone call late at night when we lived in Ohio. I could hear that it was a serious conversation and ended with “I will see you in the morning.” When I asked him about the call, he said that the caller was going to commit suicide. I thought he should go to him right away, but Larry said 'he's gonna be OK'. He had breakfast with him, prayed and went to AA meetings with him. There were many 'what once was' when we lived in San Saba, Texas, with mission work in Mexico. Larry had many dangers, toils and snares and through it all he trusted God and was led by the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 3:5&6...NIV...Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
