Alice in Wonder Land

It is 7 p.m. on Labor Day as I am getting this article ready for publication. I will send it early tomorrow morning explaining that I forgot this was a holiday and my article should have been sent last Friday. Sometimes I don't know what day it is since I moved to Ohio because my schedule has changed.

This morning I made macaroni salad for lunch at my daughter Jenny's home that is 20 to 25 minutes from where I live in Zanesville, Ohio. Jenny and husband Bill live in a lovely home Bill built on around 40 acres at the location where my husband Larry operated a sawmill with his brother Joe. Today, they invited neighbors that I enjoyed seeing. In my conversation with Tom, we talked about how things have changed because when we were children, all businesses were closed to honor Labor Day.

I am finding things and information that surprises me from when I lived in San Saba. On a torn slip of paper I wrote: 'Welcome new choir member Cari', and 'Jennifer _____'s last time with us and the song she selected.' Wonderful memories of when I directed the prison choir and was speaker also.

I have notes of one of my husband Larry's (died 11-22-20) sermons. This sermon is titled 'Good Works and Good Deeds.' Matthew 5:16...Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.... He wrote: Focus, because it is easy to procrastinate. Thoughts can be good works and good deeds if we are obedient to them.
