Richland Springs Coyote Football (4-0) took another victory on the road last Friday against the Burkeville Mustangs. While the 70-7 win was predominantly an offensive strike with 227 total rushing yards, the Coyote defense also had five interceptions and three defensive touchdowns.

The 3rd graders at San Saba Elementary began the year with a novel study over Because of Winn-Dixie. The novel took several days to complete as the students worked to answer questions each day over the material that was read to them.

Cherokee Indians conquer Round Rock Christian, 46-0

On Friday, our varsity team traveled to Leander to play Round Rock Christian. Cherokee won 46-0 at the half. Joel Valdez had 176 yards rushing and three touchdowns. He was also 2-3 passing and one touchdown. Tatum Shanklin caught a touchdown pass and an interception on defense.

 It was another classic “Battle of the River” last Friday night as San Saba did just enough to beat their archrivals for the 63rd time, 20-12. San Saba has now defeated Goldthwaite six out of the last seven years with the lone loss coming in 2021 by a mere two points.
