Kristi Macias, a 2023 graduate of San Saba High School, was recently named to the UIL 2023 ALL-STATE Journalism Staff. Only 168 students in class 1A through 6A qualified for this honor. To qualify for this honor, a student must accumulate 50+ points throughout the year by competing in UIL journalism contests and placing in the top 6. Kristi competed in both Copy Editing & Editorial Writing last year and was successful in many competitions. Among the many, she was the 2A-STATE Bronze Medalist in Copy Editing and was the Region 4-2A Champion in Editorial Writing. Kristi was coached by Deanne Cromer (editorial) and Misty Moellendorf (copy editing). Congratulations, Kristi, and best wishes at Texas A&M!
