Middle School
The San Saba Middle School Tennis Team opened their season by traveling to Mason to play in the Mason Team Tournament. Teams playing in the tournament were San Saba, Mason, Wall, Fredericksburg, Ingram, San Angelo Lee, San Angelo Glenn, and San Angelo Lincoln. In the first round, San Saba lost to San Angelo Lee 0 to 10. In the second round, the Dillos lost to Mason 0 to 12. In the third round, the Dillos defeated San Angelo Lincoln 10 to 7.
Playing for San Saba Middle School were: Olivia Sebastian, Kalina Schaeffer, Evelyn Davila, Libby Mays, Lali Hilario, Keely Pham, Julitzy Roque, Emily Estrada, Haleigh Ware, Haley Price, Emma Bishop, Anna Millican, Mikayla Harkey, Mary Jane Cantu, Jessica Nguyen, Jacob Bourke, Jefferson Stencil, Trace Temples, Logan McHam, Alejandro Parra, Joe Miller, Bob Miller Jared Holder, Adrian Martinez, Andres Davila, Ethan Landeros, and Jovani Rangel.
The Middle School will play in the Mason Invitational Tournament on April 23rd and 24th. On May 1st, the Middle school will host a tournament in San Saba. This will be the first tournament on the new tennis courts.
High School
The San Saba High School Tennis Team played in the District 29-AA Tennis Tournament on April 10th and 12th. District 29 is the toughest District in class AA with Mason in the district who is the number one team in the state.
The Dillos played very well bringing home eight 3rd place medals in the Varsity division, and the JV brought home four 2nd place medals and three 3rd place medals.
The results in the Varsity Division is as follows: Boys Singles - C.J. Greenwell 3rd place; Boys Doubles - Jose Aguilera / Luis Ramirez 3rd place; Eleu Davila / Jonathan Perez 4th place; Girls Singles - Mia Kilman 3rd place; Girls Doubles - Cadence Jimenez / Damarius Patino 3rd place, Irene Jimenez and Jazmin Guiterrez-Davila 4th place; Mixed Doubles - Brinlee Johnson / Reigan Mejia 3rd place; Sarah Saint / Johnny Meador 4th place.
The results in the JV Division are: Boys Singles - Timothy Williams second place; Girls Singles - Jordan Brown 2nd place, Leslie Aguirre 3rd place, Sarah Wysong came in fourth place; Girls Doubles - Leia Kilman / Natalie Cuevas 3rd place, One Nguyen / Karol Guerrero quarterfinalist; Mixed Doubles - Avery Tharp and Jose Aguilera 2nd place.
We would like to congratulate our seniors for a great year. They all finished in the top four in their division. Senior girl players are Brinlee Johnson, Sarah Saint, Irene Jimenez. Senior Boys are C.J. Greenwell, Jose Aguilera, Luis Ramirez, Eleu Davila, and Jonathan Perez.
