The San Saba Tennis High School Tennis Team played in the Hill Country Classic Tennis Tournament in Fredericksburg on March 23-24. This Tournament was the largest and toughest tournament we have played in all year. The 15 schools at the tournament were: Fredericksburg, San Antonio O’Connor, San Antonio Marshall, Boerne, Sonora, Mason, Brady, Ingram, Navarro, Junction, Kerrville Tivy, Bandera, Devine, Blanco, and San Saba.
Playing in the JV Division were: Libby Mays, consolation winner in Girls Singles; Girls Doubles were Sophia Cuevas / Karen Ortega, consolation finalist; Jessica Nguyen / Esperanza Baez in Girls Doubles; in Mixed Doubles were Keely Pham / Christian Reyes and JudyAguado / Rudy Vasquez.
Playing in the Varsity Division Boys Singles, Jose Aguilera and Trace Temples - quarterfinalist; in Girls Singles, Damaris Patino and Minerva Vasquez quarterfinalist; in Girls Doubles Natalie Cuevas / Tanner Proffitt; in Boys Doubles, Jovani Rangel / Jose Rojas, and Everett Eidson / Christian Morales; in Mixed Doubles, Evelyn Davila / Miguel Vasquez.
The Fredericksburg Tournament was a good tune up for the Armadillos as they get ready for the District 29-AA Tournament on March 27-28.
The Middle School 7th and 8th grade teams will play their first tournament of the year Saturday, April 1, in Lampasas starting at 8:00 a.m.
