San Saba Tennis Report

The San Saba Tennis Varsity Team played in the Gatesville Tennis Tournament on Friday, February 10. Teams playing in the tournament were San Saba, McGregor, Gatesville, Waco University, Taylor, Early and Mexia. Playing for San Saba were Damaris Patino, Minerva Vasquez, Delaney Ellis, Keely Pham, Tanner Proffitt, Evelyn Davila, Jessica Nguyen, Esperanza Baez, Justin Hernandez, Jose Aguilera, Everett Eidson, Christian Morales, Jovani Rangel, Trace Temples, Jose Rojas and Miguel Vasquez. Coach Bourke and I were very proud of the way our kids performed in very harsh conditions. Temperature was in 40’s with wind chill in low 30’s with the wind blowing 20 to 30 mph all day.

Medaling for the Armadillos were Trace Temples winning 3rd place in Boys Singles, Delaney Ellis coming in 4th place in Girls Singles, and Keely Pham winning consolation in Girls Singles. Quarterfinalist were Justin Hernandez and Jose Aguilera in Boys Doubles, Everett Eidson and Christian Morales in Boys Doubles, Damaris Patino and Minerva Vasquez in Girls Doubles,and Jessica Nguyen and Esperanza in Girls Doubles.

The JV Tennis Team will play in the Gatesville JV Tournament on February 14, and the Varsity will play in the Llano Varsity Tournament on February 15. On February 23- 24, the San Saba Tennis Team will be hosting a JV Tournament on the 23rd and Varsity Tournament on the 24th at the Ralph Cox Tennis Center. Hope everyone can come out and watch some tennis here. We will have 11 teams participating in the tournament.
