Middle School

The San Saba Middle School Tennis Team played in the Mason Invitational Tennis Tournament on April 22 - 23. Playing in the tournament on Friday were: Perla Gil-Vega, Marlane Rodriquez, Mia Davila, Emerson Gage, Holly English, Ana Rangel, Mariana Macedo, Judy Aguado, Raelynn Dooley, Karen Dooley, Brenda Aguirre, Karen Correa, Sandra Vasquez, Ximena Cuevas, Sophia Cuevas, Rudolfo Valdez, Daniel Rodriquez, Angel Reyes, Isaac Hernandez, and Kevin Aguilera.

Ana Rangel and Mariana Macedo won consolation in 7th Grade Girls Doubles. Holly English and Perla Gil-Vega were quarterfinalist in 7th Grade Girls Doubles. Marlane Rodriquez was a consolation finalist in 7th Grade Girls Singles. Rudolfo Valdez was a consolation finalist in 7th Grade Boys Singles.

On Saturday in the 8th Grade Mixed Doubles, Libby Mays and Trace Temples won 3rd Place. In the quarterfinals, Mays and Temples defeated Ingram 8 - 2. In the semifinals, they lost to Mason 4 - 8. In the 3rd place match, Mays and Temples came back and defeated Fredericksburg 8 - 1. In the 8th Grade Girls Singles, Mary Jane Cantu lost in the consolation finals and Abigail Gonzales consolation semifinalist.

Saturday, April 30, the middle school team will host the San Saba Middle School Invitational. Teams coming to the tournament besides San Saba are Brownwood, Copperas Cove Junior High, Copperas Cove Lee Jr. High School, Llano, Brady, Lohn, Richland Springs, and Lometa. The Tournament will start at 8:00 a.m. and last all day.

The Middle School will play in the 29-AA District Tournament on May 3rd in Mason.
