The San Saba Tennis Team played in a couple of tournaments last week. On Wednesday, March 17, the tennis team travelled to Mason to play in the Mason Tournament. C.J. Greenwell won first place in boys singles.

Mia Kilman came in fourth place in girls singles. The girls doubles team of Jimenez and Guiterrez-Davila came in fourth place.

Friday, March 19, the San Saba Tennis Team hosted a fourteam tournament. Teams playing in the tournament besides San Saba were Early, Winters and Santa Anna. The match of the day was in the boys singles finals as C.J. Greenwell and Reigan Mejia met in the finals. In the first set, Reigan Mejia took charge of the match by winning the first set 6-2. In the second set, C.J. Greenwell came back to win the second set 6-2. The third set was decided by a tie-breaker with C.J. Greenwell and Reigon Mejia both battling it out for the championship. C.J. came up with the victory winning the tie-breaker 14 to 12. In the Girls Doubles finals, Jazmin Guiterrez-Davila and Cadence Jimenez also played an exciting match against Early. Jazmin and Cadence came out on top winning the championship 6-3, 4-6, 10-4. In Boys Doubles, Jonathan Perez and Timothy Williams won Second Place. In Girls Singles, Damaris Patino won fourth place, and Irene Jimenez came in fifth place. Sara Wysong also played in girls singles.

On Tuesday, March 23, the JV Team will travel to Brownwood to play in the Brownwood JV Tournament. On Friday, March 26, the Varsity Team will play in the Fredericksburg Tournament, and on Saturday, March 27, San Saba will host a four-team tournament with Eldorado, Blanco and Johnson City coming to the tournament. The tournament will start at 8:00 a.m. at the San Saba Tennis Courts.
