San Saba High School’s visual art program has secured the prestigious Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) District of Distinction Award for the second consecutive year, placing it among the top 8% of visual art programs in Texas.
Out of over 1,200 eligible districts and institutions statewide, only 109 met the rigorous standards of the TAEA’s 14-point rubric, which evaluates excellence in art education, community engagement, and program leadership. San Saba’s art program excelled by submitting comprehensive materials showcasing its commitment to fostering creativity and active participation in TAEA events, as well as its strong presence in the local community.
The Visual Art Administrators of Texas, a division of TAEA, sponsors the award to recognize districts that demonstrate outstanding leadership in promoting visual arts. This year’s honorees include 13 first-time recipients, 26 second-year winners like San Saba, and others marking up to seven consecutive years of achievement.
San Saba High School’s art program continues to inspire students and enrich the community through its innovative and engaging approach to art education.
