The poem could be traditional verse, acrostics, blank verse, cinquains, diamond poems, or Haiku in format.

The Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl Poster Contest helped stu-dents 1.) learn the importance of preventing carelessness and unwanted wildfires and 2.) help in maintaining a healthy environment. Winners were 1st place Molly Mays and 2nd Harper Brown.

Fourth grade students entered the Sculpture Contest which focused on recyclables, reused, and reduced materials. Winners were 1st place Wiley Murray, 2nd place Erin Eudy, 3rd place Jay Garcia and 4th place Bailey Huff.

These entries were forwarded to the District V Texas Garden Club contest to be judged and possibly advance to the state level contest. The Keep San Saba Beautiful Commission provided Recycle, Reuse, and Repurpose Activity Books for the winners along with the Garden Club’s wildflower seed packets complete with a butterfly clip. The students were photographed with their certificate in the San Saba Elementary School Pollinators Garden that was established in 2015. This garden is enjoyed by the students and maintained annually by the San Saba Garden Club and Keep San Saba Beautiful Commission.

Congratulations to all the winners and the Garden Club thanks all students who entered the contest.
