Monday, April 3rd, marked a wildly successful San Saba County YoungLife First Annual Round Up at the beautiful venue of Soaps Place in San Saba. Guests and attendees experienced an exciting evening of entertainment, testimonies, and presentations while being fed world famous Cooper’s Bar-B-Que.
Round Up for YoungLife is the once-a-year opportunity for invited business owners, ranchers, farmers and friends to learn and experience how YoungLife impacts our local high school age youth by exposing them to the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.
The Cowboy-themed night began with prayer and socializing, then dinner, but quickly developed into an entertaining series of skits and humorous interruptions. Guests were treated to informal explanations of the history of YoungLife as well as numerous individual testimonies from local high school students regarding the impact YoungLife has already had on their lives. San Saba County YoungLife is about to celebrate its first year of being in existence, so it is notable to have so many wonderful testimonies and changed lives.
YoungLife board members and numerous volunteers organized this first, of what is destined to be, an annual sought-after invitation Round Up. Special guest speakers from the YoungLife organization, Mr. J. C. Bowban, the YoungLife Director of Small Town Initiatives, and Mr. J. W. Havel, the YoungLife Metro Director for the San Marcos Area, both provided explanations and insights about YoungLife, how it functions and why Round Ups are so important to the success of a YoungLife organization.
